About us
Recapturing the gracious lifestyle of a bygone era, internationally renowned Wharekauhau Country Estate is a multi award-winning luxury lodge situated on a 5000 acre working farm on the south east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. Framed by the Rimutaka Ranges to the west and Palliser Bay to the east, the lodge is surrounded by ancient, native forest, spectacular beaches, bountiful rivers and tranquil lakes.
Accommodation is provided in self-contained cottages or Estate Houses with stunning ocean views that are dotted around the estate, ensuring complete privacy and spectacular views, all within easy walking distance of the main lodge, the heart of Wharekauhau.
Offering a truly New Zealand experience, there is a veritable smorgasbord of outdoor activities on offer including quad-bikes, clay target shooting, horse-riding and The Wharekauhau Farm Tour which features all the activities which make up New Zealand’s legendary farming heritage.
