About Us
Huntley House is the newest, luxury boutique hotel to open in Christchurch. Fringed by towering trees, manicured lawns and park-like gardens, Huntley House is situated between the airport and city centre, a short drive from Hagley Park.
Originally built in 1876 by one of Christchurch's early settlers, many of the original features have been retained resulting in a hotel that is a graceful reminder of Christchurch’s colonial past.
The hotel is reached via a private, leafy drive, offering guests a tranquil haven from the busy world outside. Huntley House is luxurious in its décor with sumptuous fabrics and numerous antiques adorning the lodge guestrooms.Each of the 17 spacious guest rooms, which include one and two bedroom suites, features a deep spa bath, open fire place, and a balcony or patio overlooking Huntley’s pool and croquet lawn.
Swiss trained Phillip Nordt, Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager at Huntley House, has a long involvement in fine dining in New Zealand. He has owned his own fine dining restaurants and is promoting exclusive New Zealand food overseas. His latest accolade was Executive Chef for NZ.Week.Com promoting fine New Zealand cuisine worldwide.
